KARIE SEDLAK, APRN, ANP-C
Karie understands the importance of combining both art and science in aesthetic medicine in order to provide a harmonious outcome to enhance your natural features. As a full time working mother of three and breast cancer survivor she knows first hand that age truly is a gift and that the essence of feeling both beautiful inward and outwardly can effect how one perceives themselves and ultimately their overall well-being can transform.
Karie listens to her patients and their aesthetic goals while educating them on the science behind it in order to develop a patient centered approach. She serves as the lead nurse practitioner injector and co-owner of Skin Fix Medical Aesthetics and provides all services available at the medical spa such as injections with neurotoxins and dermal filler, microneedling, PRP, chemical peels, and weight loss.
Karie is a board certified nurse practitioner. She received her undergraduate degree as a registered nurse from the University of Central Missouri in 2005 and her graduate degree as an adult nurse practitioner from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2010. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has practiced in cardiovascular care for 20 years and continues to work with cardiovascular patients part time but her interest in aesthetic medicine began in 2017 and she officially became certified in aesthetics in 2021. She continues her education in aesthetics by attending training courses and conferences throughout the year to enhance her knowledge for practice and to remain up to date with the latest advancements. Her goal is to help others age gracefully by enhancing their natural beauty and to promote a healthy lifestyle for overall well-being.
Erin Kreisel, APRN, FNP-C
Erin has over 20 years experience in healthcare, including 13 years as a nurse practitioner in cardiovascular and vascular surgery. In 2005, Erin earned her bachelors in nursing. As a floor nurse she was often sought out by students. She began adjunct teaching in her free time and subsequently completed her advanced practice training in 2011.
She is passionate about building relationships with patients. The transition into aesthetics came very natural and began when she was seeking a natural aesthetic outcome as a patient herself. Following the chapter of childbearing, she sought rejuvenation, but like so many, she didn’t know where to begin or who to trust. The drive to help others along their journey to aesthetic rejuvenation became even more apparent and she become certified in aesthetic medicine in 2023. As an aesthetic injector Erin believes in promoting skin health and inspiring confidence with natural results.
When you don’t see Erin at the med spa, she is at KU Med where she continues to practice as a nurse practitioner in cardiovascular medicine. She resides in Lee’s Summit with her husband, their three little boys and two dogs.
JESSE STYLES, LICENSED ESTHETICIAN
Jesse has over five years of experience in the medical spa industry and a knack for delivering real results. Jesse is here to partner with you on your beauty journey! Whether you’re tackling acne, pigmentation, embracing aging gracefully, or simply looking to elevate your glow, Jesse’s expertise and enthusiasm make her the perfect guide. Her journey into esthetics began during her own battle with acne in high school, sparking a passion for helping others look and feel their absolute best.
Jesse continues her education by staying on top of cutting-edge advancements in technology and science in order to provide the best outcomes for her clients. She is passionate about using pharmaceutical-grade products and teaching clients the secrets to an effective skincare routine. When she’s not transforming skin, she is a busy mom of two or jet-setting across Europe with her English husband!
MELISSA MIDDLEMAS, DO
Dr. Middlemas emphasizes the importance of self care. As a wife and mother of two, she understands that you must take care of yourself so that you are best able to take care of others! She is passionate about helping others achieve their aesthetic goals, and she continues her education by attending trainings and conferences to augment her knowledge of products, treatments and techniques.
Melissa Middlemas DO, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and has practiced in the Kansas City area for ten years. She is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska. She attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate degree.
Dr. Middlemas serves as the medical director and co-owner of Skin Fix Medical Aesthetics. She continues to practice as a hospitalist with the company KC Hospitalists. She has served on multiple hospital committees including the medical executive committee and has served as the chair of the department of medicine. Beginning in 2017, she was involved in developing the Internal Medicine Residency with HCA Midamerica Division serving in the role of associate program director. She also has a special interest in self care and aesthetics.
